I am reading a book by RC Sproul and I thought to post this question to you guys... this is the passage from the book...
It was 1964- my senior year of seminary. I was seated comfortably in a theology class one morning when the professor announced that today the class would play his ''learning game". The professor's "game" followed the teaching method of Socrates where, after a difficulrt question was posed, the students were engaged in rigorous dialogue on the issue. The professor had decided to pose as a Mormon. He was insisting, as orthodox mormonism does, that God has a physical body. Your task is to prove to this "mormon" professor that God does not have a body...So, go right ahead :) I would like to hear some of your ideas. If in doubt, turn to John.

lol sorry Naomi... Mormons believe that God Himself has a physical body and what I, or better yet, the professor is asking, is for you to prove to him God does not have a physical body...As Christians we know God is Spirit, but the professor asked to prove it to him..so i'm asking you and everyone else to prove God doesn't have a physical body..make sense??~?!!? Sorry it's confusing :)

or how about.. 1 Timothy 3:16 - "He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."... Then your next fun argument with a "mormon professor" can be about the diety of Jesus...

yup..definatly use the scripture!! But it's right..but now i'll pretend to be the professor....You're saying more than the Scriptures say. The Bible says that God is a spirit but it does not add "and not a body". Just because something is a spirit does not mean it cannot also have a body...........see the way this professor is thinking is the way alot of people in this world think and i want you guys to be aware of it and know how to answer to them back, to not be afraid to speak up in what we know and believe..thanks for your replys :)

Luke 24:39 - Jesus clearly says that the spirit does not have "flesh and bones"
So let's just say we don't know what spirit is... that's fine... but at least we know what it's not.. it's not flesh and bone..
Furthermore, God is omnipresent.. everywhere... If he had a body, how could he be everywhere? If God is a physical body, then he can't physically be everywhere.
But in Psalm 139, David says he can't go anywhere without God being there..

unless, the prof was referring to the Church being the Body of Christ. right? we're His hands and feet. but he must be taking that "body of Christ" term literally and not symbolically.
