christian tempted to turn mormon!

I NEED YOUR HELP! a good friend of mine who is in some serious trouble!!! basically the title says it all, i have a friend who is a born again christian who is contemplating turning mormon! at the begining of his transformation he was so zealous and had so much love for Christ, and then he fell a little in his faith(like all of us sometimes do). he stumbled over some mormon pamphlets and even more mormons stumbled over him and started preaching to him and now he is seriously thinking about converting!!!! basically what im asking for is some serious facts (backed up by Bible scriptures) that can show that mormonism is the wrong way....Thanks so much!!

Mormons HAVE and additional gospel that was supposedly given to them through revelation. In addition, they believe that God is polytheistic, an "exaclted man"...Mormom theology teaches that if man stopped believing that God is God, than God would cease to exist..

FIRST OFF... MORMONS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS AND NOT FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST!

Mormons have big issues.. they don't believe in Jesus Christ and they say He was just a man like anyother. Without Jesus Christ you cannot be saved. Yes they believe in some parts of the Bible, but that's not enough.. also they believe John Smith found some Golden Plates.. (which no one has seen :D ) and added them to the Bible.
JESUS WAS AND IS GOD!

Bellabambina.. you should ask him/her.. why did Jesus die? .. because we all know John 3:16 .. If Jesus wasn't God.. then the sacrifice He made on the cross has no value. How can only a man pay the punishment for other men? :sureee: We as men can't even pay our own punishment.

Delirious makes a great point. John 14:6 "i am the way the truth......" Remind your friend of galatians 1:8 "if we, or an ANGEL OF THE LORD, should come and preach something other than what we have preached, consider them eternally condemned..." Joseph Smith had an encounter with an "angel of the Lord" and claims that the gospel was not right and he needed to fix it. Interesting how Paul mentions this 2000 years before it happens. Tell Him not to follow Christianity, tell him not to follow mormanism. Tell him to open up to the book of John. To read it, and follow that. Follow what God tells Him to follow. NOt man made religion. Believe it or not, "christianity" is a man made religion as well. it's biblical, but it's still man made. Tell him to follow Gods word. Preferrably, the Gospel of John.

mormons are not following christ, they have another 'christ'. they are a cult.

trying to keep him/her back could lead to the unwanted result, plus nobody can convince somebody but the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, if he/she ask u about some issues u give him/her the best answer u can. God bless u.

as others have clarified after a few have either intentionally or ignorantly stated, mormanism is far from christianity and they do not worship the same God we do.

this is a major crisis! I will offer only a little advice now until later tomorrow when I have some time to give you a little info on mormonism.

though the issue of eternal salvation is a highly debated one, what not to do is question your friend's original salvation and sincerity. that may only alienate them from the one true faith and push them further into deception. (visit Galatians 5:4 if you want a quick example of people actually "falling from grace") also, talk to your senior pastor about the issue. I am familiar with him and I'm sure he would make equipping you with knowledge a priority. you may also consider talking to pastor cimpean from Philadelphia who is also very wise. be courageous and caring enough to contact spiritual leaders in your community. he is born again....he has been baptized with the holy spirit as well. the thing is chirstians become discouraged sometimes. the devil came along and whishpered some nonsense in his ear but made it believable. and also he ran into some mormons and now he thinks that these could be signs. i havent really sat my friend down and talked to him thoroughly about this bc i wanted to be prepared. i have done some research on the internet about this religion but i wanted to provide biblical proof against their doctrines. the stem of his discouragement is the romanian church and their traditions, he feels like there is other alternatives out there....but thanx everyone so far!!

I would suggest you go to the nearest Christian store and buy a pamphlet on Mormonism and get informed QUICKLY.......

Mormons have a VERy slippery doctrine, have alot of control, and if not equipped, can make for a very quick fall.......

I used to call these guys in when they came to the door...it was sooooo much fun....my wife was like.."please stop...look what your doing to them".....she thought i was making fun of them, but I was just asking them the "difficult" mormon questions....anyways....get knowledge...and help your friend out...

I recommed trying what I have seen work for me in my life. Some serious fasting like 3 days for him so that God can intervine to him like in a vision, and serious praying heartfully, because the Mormon religion has a lot of false techings, and brainwash.
