I know romanians didnt speak Latin and we werent latin originally, we were
something else before the dumb Italians invaded us and made our language
retarded latin. Dacia was Romanias old name so i was thinking that we were
Dutch? And dont think we were latin before CAUSE WE WERENT!
What Were We? I did research but werent - someone told me Etruscians

I believe that we are the mixture of a nomadic tribe and the native people. The magyars came and invaded thus creating the Hungarian race.. The fact that we were in the way of the travelrs going to Asia and the Eastern world traveling to the West gave us a lot of diversity wich is found in our Architecture, Food, Etc.Etc....
Canadian, eh?

Romanians are products of the numerous unions which occurred between the Romans and Dacians.
Ro_manuel, you hate latin? I myself am greatly proud that we can trace our heritage back to the Romans. Their culture and language greatly influeced western society. you should be proud to speak a romance language.
Our language is not all Latin though. There are still many words which are Dacian and other words which have slavic influences. I read that 75% of Romanian is Latin, the rest is Dacian and Slavic.

It is believed that the original "Dacian" language was slavonic, because of the similarity between certain commonly used words (think food, descriptive words etc..) that have been used for centuries and have much more in common with slavic words and are sometimes even cognates. Romanian shares structural similarities with Albanian as well, so that might indicate a common ancestry. Our alphabet is an alphabet of slavic sounds that has been translated into the Roman alphabet, hence the use of accents that really have single letter corrolaries in the Cyrillic alphabet. Dacian people however have a much less clear ancestry. I have never heard a clear answer on who exactly they were.

If I'm not mistaking we are a mixture of two diversities, the Romans and the Dacians (and I was told thats how we the country of Romania got the well known name Dacia for the Romanian vehicle). I could be wrong, but I'll ask my great grandfather :-)

Dutch??? Hmm the name Dacia has nothing to do with Dutch.
I am sure that if you make a google search you will be able to find tons of information about Romanian history.

Dude Latin is a beautiful language... If it wasn’t for the Romans then the Romanian language would have sounded like Russian mixed with other non Latin based European languages... and Romanian wouldn’t be in the romance language group or family or whatever... (and believe me the Dacians [first Romanians] put up quite a fight, because the roman Caesar of that day put I don’t know exactly the amount of gladiators 1000 or 2000 (most there ever was I think ever fighting in one arena) to fight in the arena after he defeated Dacia, so that means the dacians must have really pissed him off by putting up a great fight)

Romanians came from Dacians- a group of people known to be passionate about food, fighting, and pro-creating in that time in history. These characterstics and traits have survived thousands of years and are still evident in todays Romanian population. When they're not doing either of the 3 they are restlessly talking about events that are going to lead up to one of those 3 :D. :laf: :thfro:

dacia were some kind of slavic, but even before that they were geto-daci or even before, some tribes like the hunii, gotzii adn slavii.all of them, kind of slavic people.that means.....a lil bit of russian.so, after that the ROMANS and not the ITALIANS, came, and made ROMANIANS out of the dacians and not LATINS.after that came the OTOMANII and after that the Austro-ungarii.so, we are romanians that means.....a lil bit of russian mixed with alot of latin.we are more latin that russian.our neighbours are all slavics and we are latins more than 60%.i live in spain and i can tell u, it's silly how easy spanish is for me cause we are latins.
but, even before the tribes, we were and STILL ARE Sons of God, that means, SONS OF THE KING!!!!!!!
bless u
