i read in the paper that its not really about the birth of Christ.. it's more a love story between Mary and Joseph.... i dont know. i havent seen One Night With the King, though i want to. I wanted to see The Nativity, but now after reading that excerpt in the paper i'm not so sure... i guess we'll see come opening day :)

no. they didnt put the movie down. rather, they said that it was very good. they just gave another point of view. most christians probably think it's about Jesus's birth... but from the previews, they should gather that it isnt. :)

but yes, good point.. christian movies are finally surfacing... yay!

hmm, maybe you're right. i mean remember all those comic books to movies they put out? catwoman, batman, superman, spiderman, xmen, BAH.

i think it's...good...exploitation...you know? people see it who aren't christian and glean an important message from it. maybe movies are the new way to pass along the good news?

LOL... why would you say it's targeted towards christians and their pocketbooks? It's a Christmas story, and it came out during the right time of the year. It's not like it came out during the summer or something. It's just like any other Christmas movie. It's not targeted towards anyone. I mean, if you're a "true Christian", then you already are familiar with the Bible and the story of Jesus' birth.

If the papers viewed it as a love story between Joseph and Mary, then that's good. Maybe it will actually draw in others that aren't interested in the whole biblical side of it, and maybe it will give them a chance to see something that they are not familiar with. :boxing:
