Is there a way to put a picture in a post that is on a computer without first having it somewhere online?

you should have an option to UPLOAD your custom avatar. :scratch: look in your USER CP > EDIT OPTIONS

like that....but not needing it to be on the internet. Like is it possible to attach a picture that you can see it in the post...you don't have to download the attachment...

yes it is possible.. but that feature is turned OFF. since from past experience members attach LARGE photos and it takes FOREVER for the thread to load.

Okay that makes sense. Now I was wondering about posts replying to pictures. I guess the picture albums are a little different. Is it possible to include graphics in those posts? I mean besides the list of smilies that are there.

you go to your EDIT OPTIONS and there is your signature editing box.. in there type the above and it should appear in all your posts! you have to put the URL of the image between the and codes... :)

There is no point in enabling it for people with 1000 + posts. They just take too long to load and they take up bandwidth. It's easily abused.

[img] tags are not enabled when it comes to repling on pictures. With good reason...i mean if you just put your picture up do you want someone else replying with a picture of something else?

Well, I'm talking about both the custom Avatar, and the pics that all three of you have "attached" to your quotes. To my understanding of the rules of royouth and to what cosmin said in a posting several before this:

Anyone posting more than 500 is allowed their own personal Avatar, which means I just recently made it. WOO HOO!

And anyone posting more than 1000, according to cosmin, can put an image along with their "signature".

However, I see that ymeagain does not yet have 1000, but he is able to attach his pic. So, therefore, my conclusion is that the funtion is enabled.

And by the way, is there a listing of certain "names" you are assigned when you get to a certain number of postings?

I just now noticed that I am now a SeniorMember because I passed 500.

Archangel obviously has a special one, and it looks like novellation also has a special one. Obviously, there are defined ones, but I am guessing that you can eventually request a "special" one if you are active enough.

Saint Joe when you get to 1000 posts you can change your Title to what you want. I don't know of any post minimum necessary...to put a picture in your signature.

Saint joe, arch angel said "nah don't even try...it won't work" then he said jk a few posts later. You don't need a minimum number of posts to have a picture in your sig, you just have to use the img code to get the picture in there. For custom avatar you need 500 for custom title you need 1000.

Or they can be referenced from our hard drives without an upload?

The picture has to be on the internet somewhere. And uploading it into your photo albums is one way of doing it.
