ok .. last week most romanian churchs participated at cina Domnului ... well my question is ....

there are certain circumstances that would make a person hold back from taking it. I took it but i was wondering .. why WOULDN'T you take it? And just some information about what is it, why we do it, and how to prepare for it would be great. I know some of these but its a great subject to know b/c you're faced with it once a month!

In adition to what Iacob asked I want to ask this question about Cina D-lui! that is: How often is it ok to take the cina? Does the Bible say anything about how often we should take it? I attend this American church on Thursday nights and they take it every Thursday. I think that's awesome as long as it is ok to take it that often. Someone told me that Cina should be something special between the believer and God. I see it that way too, but why not have that special moment with God more than once per month? Would like an answer ASAP since I'm gonna attend the youth service again on Thursday. Thank you ... GB

Nollie,
It is ok to take the communion as often as possible as long your relationship with God is alright and you don't make another routine out of it.
I personally thing that Romanian churches should take it more often.
It seems that the first Christians where taking the communion everytime they met in a fellowship setting. In times of persecution it was the symbol of their bond with Jesus and each other.

First, let me say here that there is no bibical requirement of special preparation for the Cina Domnului. A Christian should be able to take communion at anytime in most circumstances. You don't need to be more prepared for communion than for the Lord's coming which could happen anytime. So, in order to partake communion just be a Christian.
Second, before you take communion you need to search: your purity of heart, your relationships; it is therefore a personal decision. Forgiveness is always available.
Third, different churches have different traditions and they could in extreme cases ex-communicate someone.

Of course, Romanians make it always more complicated.

Dear Iacob

The question about Lord's Supper is a very good one. It creates many cinfusions in our churches, mainly because of some traditiosn like "preparation" for it and the lements of the Lord's Supper. Here is my opinion:
1. The Lord's Supper was celerated every time the Early Church met, combined with "the agapae" a felowsip dinner, a kind of pot lock dinner.
2. our pentecostal tradition (the same the baptist), is to have it onece a month, which is goog in my opinion because it will be a boring rutine after awhille, like in the Catolic Church.
3. We have to be prepared for it all the time, as one of you already said it.
4. The only thinh which will disqualify us to take it, it is whern we consider us worthy, or perfect suited to take it. The Lord's Supper is for sinners. If somebody consider himself without any sins, Tha Lord's Supper is noy for him.

In my personal opinion, I think it would be alright to take Communion at any time. Of course it must be taken in the right manner, meaning that your heart has to be in the right place with God. I don't know who wrote it, but he was right when he said that the way Romanians do it (once a month), is almost Catholic, in a sense. Remember the prayer that is prayed when partaking the bread, symbolizing 'His broken body", and the juice symbolizing "His blood", we are to take these in "Remembrance of Him". So, yes, there is nothing wrong with taking Communion more than once a month. Take it every day, if you will! Just remember each time, what it's deep meaning is, and remember to be and stay on the right path.:angel4:

at my church, we put a big emphasis and making things right with everyone is our church. if there was an arguement or a misunderstanding or things like that between members, it is suggested (cause of course it cannot be forced and only God knows all the details) that the two parties face up, deal it out and forgive and accept. just like the Bible said........if you have something with your brother still undone, go and do it first, then come back to God.

it is really cool at our church, cause on communion day, right before everyone goes to do the footwashing (which is first before the supper biblically) everybody goes around and gives hugs, and asks "if there was anything i offended you in, please forgive me and please let me know so that i will not do it again".
i am telling you......by the time it is finished, you see separated friends talking to each other, family members hugging and crying, and man........it is just so awesome!
then, all in the right spirit, with solemnity but with peace also, we take the bread and grape juice, and things couldnt be more perfect. the only unfortunate thing is...............our church does it only once every 3 months. yeah i agree that it should be done WAY more OFTEN!!!!

There’s this one church “Vinyard” that I sometimes attend besides my ‘HOME’ church that have communion every Sunday…but every time I take communion I need to release all of my problems, sins, feelings, etc. and give it to Jesus…He always speaks to me and tells me what to change and what to develop in.

Fr. Lascau...thank you for your answers. You actually answered more than one of my questions about the Supper!
