i have been thinking about this lately, wats the deal with King David getting to have heaps of mistresses and stuff, do like the rules change for us??? isnt his life supposed to be an example??? was he trying to populate the world on his own??

i have been lookin for stuff in the bible that explains this but couldnt find anything.

Not only King David but heaps of other ppl aswell.

King David must have been a bit of a tiger.

I once heard a sermon on the subject of David, it wasn't his actions that made him great, it was his willingness to come back to God when he made mistakes. When he listened to God, he was great and he knew that, so his life is similar to the modern Christian's, it doesn't however, mean he was perfect. He was consumed by s*xual sin and it made him do crazy things.

Do not be confused any longer my son, i have some answers for thee:D

1 Corinthians 7
2But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own WIFE, and each woman her own HUSBAND.
39A woman is bound to her HUSBAND as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.

That SHOULD be clear enough.

YES, the "rules" have changed for us. God allowed people back then to have more than one wife or husband, SIMPLY because God wanted the population to grow. So i have learned, and this is what preachers believe.

And Cedinta explained it well enough how he was an example to us.

But Solomon had the most wives i believe. 700 wives!!!!!! But only ONE surpassed them all. Proverbs 31.
