Take a look at this article and tell me what you think. I know it made me think about whether or not I should vote.

'Do you want to be kept safe from terror? Neither George W. Bush nor John Kerry can promise you that. But God can and does protect His followers.
Is the economy your concern? God unequivocally guarantees economic blessings to His followers.'

this about sums it up...

Jesus says, "give unto Caesar's what is Caesar's"

This is pretty much all that Jesus says about politics. He knew Caesar was corrupt, etc. but He still demanded we pay taxes. Simply put, Jesus would probably not be interested in the political nominees. He seemed to have a different purpose while he was down here rather than tell people how to vote.

So on that note, im gonna say this: Both Kerry and Bush are terrible candidates: so vote for BUSH!!

Regardless of how we feel, we have the responsibility (and obligation) to pray for our leaders... :need:

The author of the article is misguided at best, and a false teacher at worst. I give him the benefit of the doubt, and I'll just qualify the article as a misguided attempt to pander to those who believe that the sooner the world goes to hell in a hand basket, the better. As Christians, we have a duty to support the government that rules over the land we live in. Here in the United States we do it by paying our taxes, and by holding the government accountable for its actions by bringing grievances and electing officials. Just to quote from his tirade,

"... Ambassadors for Christ 2 Corinthians 5:20 calls true Christians “ambassadors for Christ.” Christians represent Him and His government. So ask yourself, as a citizen of your own home country: How would you vote in a Russian election? How would you vote in France? Simply put, you wouldn’t! Nor would Christ or His followers be active in the politics of this world’s governments! ... "

In other words, if I pledge allegiance to the flag and the Republic for which it stands, I am not a true Christian? We should note that most of the founding fathers of this country were devout Christians, and most of them laid their life on the line to defend this land. Following his line of reasoning, we should not even try to defend the sovereignity of our country, since it's Satan's land, anyway. Why bother to have a military then? Let it be said that the democratic form of government, while not perfect, is trully the best way to protect our God given rights. I am not going to dismiss it just because it's not perfect. Let no the perfect be the enemy of the good!

I am a citizen of the good ol' U. S. of A., and until I have a permanent change of address to the othe rside of the pearly gates, I shall still be a citizen of this country. With this, I carry the responsibility of supporting my government on the issues that I deem righteous, and draw attention to its wrongdoings as well.

That article is retarded. Probably written by John Kerry himself. I offer you a brilliant rebuttal from a great Christian thinker.

Dr. James Dobson is nationally renowned on the subject of christians getting involved in our government. We MUST is what he said. That is true indeed. We must vote for the best candidate we deem most promising for our land. And we must vote using our godly discernment, judgement, and Wisdom from above. And we definitely need to pray for our leaders. The bible teaches us that.

I think that God would know who he would vote for...not us..and that is why we should leave all deciding to him..its not for us to decide or what not.

some girl that sits behind me in one of my classes had a big ad from the newspaper that showed a pic of Jesus pointing his thumb down.....and under it it said "what would jesus vote? NO ON 36" (measure 36 in oregon is to ban gay marriage...voting no means you want gay marriages to be allowed) that really pissed me off when i saw that...

i htink both had their flaws.. who wouldnt... its just what they both stood for...and kerry stood for the people, peoples rights, what ppl want, etc.. which is not something us Christians should look for in a president...
