My father's favorite phrase is "When you work, you work. When you play, you play" When he says that, it basically implies that I am messing around on the job and I need to get back to real work. This weekend I was tool gopher for 12 hour days for 2 days! And I got to clean the grout off of 700 square feet of tile, twice. My father would scuff it with his feet, and if his shoes were dusty, I had to clean it again. Some friends of mine did the crown moulding for one of my parents' houses this weekend and they were amazed by how "harnici" we were (they're polish, so they don't know what harnici means, but they knew we were hard working). That's pretty much my father's favorite phrase though. He doesn't use it too much any more though. He used to say it all the time when I was a kid (how hard can you expect an 8 year old to work?)
