Missionary Work

I was wondering If anyone here has ever been on a mission trip, and how it was... where did you go ... what happened... ect. I am really interested in missionary work.... I'm probably going to do it when I'm a little older, probably during or after college...I dunno... it all depends on where I go, I'm pretty open to God's will in my life... so we'll see.... but yea... got an expereince? a testimony... i wanna hear it.

i went to Moldova with a group from ATL in 98 or 99.. that was absolutely awesome.. i get teary eyed even when i remember it.. i've wanted to go again, but i've been procrastinating.. it was an awesome experience.. the Lord will work in your life as you are working with those children.. it makes you realize what's important in life and helps you to stop takingthings for granted.. i often recall those memories when i feel like something is unfair, and realize that compared to that, i got it all and more... it was awesome.. it changed my life!

yea... i dunno, like this whole week I thought about missionary work, and then this preacher from brazil pops up at our church...and starts talking about missionary work. He is a native brazilian but he learned romainian and did missionary work in romainia for 5 years. His testimony was awesome....it just made me think more about it. Then Sunday night I was talking to this guy from Austrailia and he was telling me about how he quit his job to travel and do missionary work.... which i find sooo awesome. Thats hardcore..... really awesome. I think God's trying to tell me something....but yea, adidasboy4jc, thanks for your testimony, I had a friend who went to moldova, two actually, one was baptist from LA, and the other is my cousin from AZ. I dunno if they went with the ATL group, I don't remember specifics but they both said it was an awesome experience and highly recommended it.... so, God willing I'll go soon.

the teenagers from our church are going to Romania this summer doing MIssionary work.. i wish i can go but since i can't its all good. but i'm pretty sure its alot of fun. just knowing that your helping someone would put you on Cloud Nine

That's great to hear MoniRemchek19.
I went on my first mission trip to Romania last summer with Countryside Missions. I ended up in the city of Scornicesti, Ceausescu's birthplace, and their we did many things in the city, such as cleaning up the yard at the local casa de cultura, inside the locker rooms at the soccer stadium, we remodeled a classroom at the school, had vacation Bible school with the kids, and the biggest thing is we started building a church their, and in about 6 days, by God's grace, we got all the walls up and the inside walls. It was such an amazing experience for me, and God really blessed me their, and now I have a heart for the mission field and especially for Scornicesti. I would really like to go back this summer also, because they are finishing the church and starting with the kindergarden they want to make their, but it's more expensive this year, and I'm short a bit on money, but I am praying about it. Wow... that's really awesome.... yea I would like to go to Romainia too....doing mission work there would be so awesome..... I love hearing about other people's experiences, it just makes me stronger and more determined.....And dagr810ne don't worry about money.... God provides for his children.... just have faith.

P.S. Where in ROMANIA is Scornicesti? .. Like north, south.... by which major city...in what county.... ect.

Yea I just gotta keep prayin about it, please pray for me too, if you could. Um.. Scornicesti is in southern Romania, in judetul(or State) Olt. It's close to Craiova and Pitesti, and not that far from Bucuresti.

Hi everyone,

I just want to say "it doesn't matter how old you are, because GOD can use you any in this world, even in your own town" . As for me (with the help of the GOOD LORD) I reach out to anyone I meet (old friends and people I never met before in this world) , because you never know who will turn to JESUS. RU4Jesus? - I agree, It is important to reach out to your surrounding community as well.... My church has recently gone through a revival, so while they are still in my prayers, I feel like God is calling me to something bigger. God is so Awesome!

I support missions from my home church. We call our missionaries once a week, and check up on them to see how everything is going. I have been on a missions trip myself to marblemount washington. We spent a week there, and we had 14 kids accept christ. It was amazing. I had the most wonderful time ever. Next summer i hope to go to Romania and spend a month working at my friends church. ^_~

Wow...Briana Bubble that's an awesome testimony...what church do you attend?
I had hoped to go to Romainia or somewhere this summer, but it doesn't look like it's going to workout, I am hoping and praying for next summer though!
